What I meant to say, is that despite what you may think of the Britster, she’s a modern icon and pop diva that has paved the way for many of today’s contemporary artists. In a sense, she’s the Madonna of our generation. This 90’s sex icon, while also being prone to controversial tabloid stories, is the epitome of “pop star”.

Britney Spears Versace Dress Auctions For Over $8000
Miley Cyrus assembled some of her Hollywood pals for an eBay auction to benefit the American Red Cross for Haiti relief. The highest winning item was a Versace dress worn by Britney Spears.
After 75 bids, the dress fetched $8,100 during the eBay auction. It was the most successful of the auctions, which included signed tour costumes from Demi Lovato and tickets to the premiere of Cyrus’ upcoming movie, “The Last Song.”
The sparkling Versace dress was worn by Spears when she picked up three awards at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards for her clip “Piece of Me.” The silvery lavender dress was custom-made for Spears for the event. The auction even revealed the dress’ measurements, revealing that it measured 15 inches from underarm to underarm and 37 inches from top to bottom.
The auction helped raise thousands of dollars for Haiti relief. Another winning bids include $3,550 for Cyrus’ Herve Leger mini-dress worn to this year’s Grammy Awards, while a meet and greet with Hugh Jackman on the set of his next movie scored a winning bid of $4,800.

Britney at UCLA Medical Center–UPDATE: Britney is OK!
UPDATE: “Everything is fine,” her rep tells X17online. “Britney is there for an annual physical.”
Britney’s children were not seen in the car with her, but it’s possible they could be the reason for her trip to the hospital.
UPDATE: Photogs say that Britney walked into the children’s wing of the hospital. We have pix coming soon…
UPDATE 2: Britney arrived at UCLA Medical Center’s Mattel Children’s Hospital
with two cars following her and a police escort which was pre-planned. The caravan of cars didn’t appear to be moving in a way that would suggest there was an emergency. The whole thing started around noon PT today when the three cars left Spears’ Calabasas home, heading for Westwood.
X17online’s calls to Britney’s publicist weren’t immediately returned. Media relations for the hospital said “we can’t comment due to patient confidentiality.”
