Another mob scene erupted in Hollywood Wednesday night as a not-so-thrilled Britney Spears, who was swaddled by a coat to hide from the shutterbugs, headed out for a night of clubbing with friends.

Earlier in the day, Britney shopped for the people on her nice list. “Extra” has also learned Brit is already rehearsing for her big New Year’s Eve bash in Las Vegas.

Not only is she keeping busy with work and play, Britney is also keeping up with her newest purchase: a $7.2 million Beverly Hills mansion!

Spears has moved out of her Malibu mansion and into a five bedroom, 6.5 bath Mediterranean-style pad in the famed 90210 zip code.

And if Britney needs to borrow a cup of sugar, she can run to neighbor Ed McMahon or Gwen Stefani’s house.

Britney Spears has bought a home in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills according to several magazines and gossip Web sites, and judging from this weekend’s activities it appears she’s settling into Hollywood life rather well.

The pop princess in the re-making was spotted for the first time in months publicly spending some quality family time with mama Spears, Lynne, and little sister Jamie-Lynn. The ladies’ Spears ventured out to Dominick’s, an up market, Italian-inspired eatery in West Hollywood, with William Morris Agent Jason Trawick.

And yes, the pop star was wearing panties this time out, but no one had to check. It was obvious to the paparazzi camera lenses that Brit’s bits were covered thanks to the dress she was wearing. It was made of see through black lace. Also on display — a hot pink bra and matching pink and black bikini knickers.

Not taking her outfit too well was “The View” co-host Rosie O’Donnell. After recently urging Britney to wear underwear via her television show, Rosie noted she was dissappointed with Brit’s dress this weekend. “I didn’t mean for her to wear it so America could see it,” she said on Monday’s show. “This is the dress I want you to throw away Britney. I want that dress to be gone.

Poor Brit, I enjoy the Britney, but I wish she would wear more,” Rosie added.

One possible reason for Brit’s revealing attire? Following dinner, the singer journeyed sans family, for the second time in under a week to Ivan Kane’s Forty Deuce club. While at the burlesque bar in Hollywood, X17Online reports she may have even performed. The bar doubles as a platform for burlesque dancers.

No word yet on if Britney’s alleged performance benefited from lessons with Lindsay Lohan. The “Herbie” star has been practicing a similar kind of dancing on her own — the pole kind. She has a role in an upcoming stripper film.

Nowhere to be found though on Britney’s night out? Paris Hilton. The heiress partied it up at LA’s Area with Nicole Richie.
