The holidays went by too quickly this year. We did quite a bit of traveling, and this always makes the days fly by. Everyone in the family seemed to be going in different directions. Everything finally settled down on Christmas.

Britney gave Jamie Lynn a wonderful gift for Christmas. She flew Jamie Lynn, three friends and myself to Vail, Colorado for five days. I enjoyed the gift as much as Jamie Lynn. The snowy mountains were beautiful, and the house we stayed in was fabulous. After skiing everyday, we could rest our weary muscles in the Jacuzzi outside.

Britney and the little girls learned how to ski really well after three days. I, on the other hand, needed a little more time. Needless to say, we had a lot of laughs on the trip. Sometimes I think I would love to live in the mountains. I’d love to see snow every Christmas. We don’t get much in Kentwood.

We decided to take a night snowmobile tour up the mountain. We had to ride the snowmobile really close to the side of the mountain as we rode to the top. It was pretty scary to look down and realize how high we were. But the view from the top of the mountain was just breathtaking.

We hoped Bryan and Lauren would join us in Vail, but they had made plans they couldn’t change. Bryan and Lauren are now officially engaged. I have so much to look forward to this year.

The trip ended New Years Eve. Britney dropped the girls and me off at home only to pick up Bryan and Lauren, and five of her friends. They flew to New York to attend the New Years Eve party Brit and Natalie Portman had planned. I barely remember having the energy my kids have!

I did have a small party with my friends at home. There were as many children as adults. Everyone brought a dish and the kids brought their fireworks. We had a warm cozy fire built, and we laughed and carried on about old times.

I hope every one of you had a happy holiday, and will have an even greater new year. Our holidays were a wonderful ending to a wonderful year, and we’re looking forward to an even better 2003. Britney has a lot planned and is anxious to share it with all her fans.
