Hey Ruben.

I've been visiting WoB for a long time...I love it. But recently I've learned about some stuff about Britney that kind of worries me. On New Years Eve, I was at a party and met a girl from Louisiana named Lisa. I made some joke about Kentwood and Britney, and she told me that she had just hung out with her a couple of weeks before. I, of course, was like "yeah right". But she got out pictures and showed me some of her and Britney, and few other people. I guess she had been a dance instructor for Jamie Lynn. She knew things about Jamie Lynn that couldn't have just been researched and spouted off. Plus, she was a beautiful talented 20 year old. so I doubt she spends her time trying to make people believe she is friends with Britney Spears. Anyways, they've only met a couple of times, but she told me that the last time she was with her, Britney had been totally rolling.

Just in case you didn't know, "rolling" is a term for taking Ecstasy. I was kind of surprised by that, but Lisa told me Britney is a chain smoker too, as well as a total partier. I have no reason to believe she's lying. In fact I fully believe she's telling the truth because of the pictures, and because I can usually tell when people are lying. Anyways...the point of this email wasn't to bash Britney for doing drugs or whatever. I just hope that it doesn't affect her career, because the press always ends up finding stuff like that out, ya know? She's a talented girl, with a lot going for her, and I hope she doesn't let partying and drugs get the best of her. I realize she just wants to have fun, but sometimes it turns into a lifestyle instead of a just every-once-in-a-while thing. I'v attached a picture that is in the newest People magazine. It's Britney when she hosted the Miracle on 34th Street thing. She's with Liza Minelli. If you look at her closely, you can tell she's gotten skinnier, and she generally just doesn't look as healthy as she used to.

I thought id tell you all of this because I'd like to hear what YOU think. You seem pretty good about not being totally blind to her imperfections. She IS human. And knowing that, I just hope she doesn't let bad shit get the best of her. It would be a total shame. Anyways. I'm sorry this e-mail is so long. I hope it didn't bore you too much. Keep up the good work with the site. It rocks. :-)

Ok, my opinion in regards to your experience is simple, who knows? there's no way to really know if what that girl from Louisiana was saying to you was true or false, also, the fact that that girl was really beautiful has nothing to do with her ability to know celebrities, Britney hangs out with a lot of people that aren't considered "beautiful", otherwise, don't you think it would make this whole thing very shallow? Either way, you were able to get an insight into the private Britney that not many people know, that sometimes, is completely different from the public Britney, and you know what, use that to contrast how you see Britney as an artist, I think that if you learn to accept the way she is for the record and off the record, you'll learn to appreciate her so much more for who she really is.
