Being from Louisiana never hurt Britney Spears' music career, but the Cajun cuisine of her Nyla restaurant apparently wasn't palate-pleasing enough for the New York crowd.
So Nyla has changed its menu and is now offering classic regional American food with an Italian flair at prices between $14 and $28.
Britney has also severed all ties to her restaurant, saying that it suffers from mismanagement.
Spears' decision comes amid an involuntary petition of bankruptcy that was recently filed against Pinky Enterprises LLC, which runs Spears' restaurant. In the petition, three vendors, Dairyland USA Corp., Ocean Clear Inc. and Sam Tell & Son Inc., allege they have not been paid in excess of $25,000. The petition was filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court last month.
In a written statement, Spears says she had no involvement in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, which opened in June of last year.
In other news, Quickie art creations by Bono and Spears based on seaside themes were auctioned off in Dublin, Ireland, for ICROSS, a group that provides home care for East African orphans stricken with AIDS.
Spears crafted a beach scene with paper, glitter and glue, and Bono drew a Mermaid complete with tail. ...
Britney has also reportedly cut her ties from NYLA's, meaning, she won't have anything to do with the restaurant anymore.
