Celebrity publicist Lizzie Grubman, whose former clients include Britney Spears and Jay-Z, entered a Long Island, New York jail today to commence a 60-day sentence a car crash.
The publicist admitted in court last month that she backed her Mercedes sports utility vehicle into a crowd of revellers outside a nightclub in the Hamptons, New York in July 2001.
Witnesses claimed Grubman became upset when a bouncer at the Conscience Point Inn in Southampton asked her to move her vehicle from a fire lane.
The security guard Scott Conlon alleged Grubman shouted 'white trash' before reversing her car in the crowd and injuring 16 people.
After Grubman pleaded guilty to a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident and a misdemeanour assault charge under a plea agreement at Suffolk county court and was sentenced to 60 days behind bars, 280 hours of community service and five years probation.
Eight of Grubman's victims are suing the publicist in multi-million dollar lawsuits.
