Britney Spears and Los Angeles's Universal Amphitheatre will be honored with the prestigious Children's Choice Award at the Neil Bogart Memorial Fund's (NBMF) annual Bogart Tour For A Cure on November 4 in L.A.

Spears will receive the award for her strong commitment to children's issues and charitable giving. Spears's contributions to kids include her Britney Spears Foundation, which creates playrooms for sick children on extended hospital stays, and the Britney Spears Camp For The Performing Arts, which offers disadvantaged children the opportunity to learn from top acting, singing, and dancing professionals during a 10-day camp stay in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Spears also raised a million dollars during her recent Dream Within A Dream tour for the children who were victims of the September 11 attacks.

'It is an honor to be recognized in the music industry for my commitment to children,' said Spears. 'I get so much out of seeing a child's self-esteem and happiness grow through the projects I have worked on. To be recognized for this is amazing.'

This year's Bogart Tour For A Cure will commence with a preshow reception on the Universal Studios lot, followed by an evening of entertainment paying tribute to 30 historic years of performances at the Universal Amphitheatre. The legendary venue has hosted more than 3,500 events since 1972. Dick Clark will open and close the show. Spears will not be performing in the show, but she will attend the evening as a guest of honor.

The NBMF is dedicated to funding cutting-edge bench-to-bedside research at the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles. As part of the T.J. Martell Foundation, the NBMF has raised more than $175 million over the past 27 years to fund groundbreaking research in the areas of pediatric cancer, leukemia, and AIDS.
