Ok, what you are going to read is something that hahfunnie@aol.com sent me this morning. I cannot confirm the validity of this but it looks pretty real and I think it's definately news worthy. Anyways, starting below is something that was sent to me (I did not write this), and it's in regards to a Radio Station in Texas that supposedly had good contacts with Lynne Spears and was able to get an exclusive interview with Britney, but when Britney got on the air, to them it sounded like someone completely different, thinking that this was all a hoax, the radio DJ's started to insult Britney to the point where she hung up, because well, the DJ's didn't want to believe it was Britney just because 'her voice sounded different' on the phone, and well, you have no idea the embarassment when they later got on the phone with Lynne Spears and she revealed that well, the girl they had been insulting and not believing in, actually was Britney.
Here is the full story that was sent to me:
First let me start off by saying that this is the biggest trainwreck of an
interview I have ever seen....that said let me give you some backround info
As you know britney has done no radio interviews during this leg of her tour
but because Lynne spears personnaly knows the producer Of this radio show in
dallas (KIDD KRADDICK IN THE MORNING) she talked britney into doing the
morning show over the phone set for Friday 19. Britney decided to call in on
thursday 18 however because of a scheduling conflict. THey took the call and
the following is a synopsis of the 'interview' which turned out to be the
biggest flub in the history of britney interviews. THe reason being britneys
identity was questionable b/c of an extreme discrepency in her voice. Of
course speculation persued on various conspiracy theories some of which
surprisingly have a lot of substance to them.
1) Lynne spears could not talk britney into doing the interview and tryin not
to make britney look bad decided to do it as britney hoping the djs wouldnt
notice(their voices were compared saying the same words and anyone would say
it was the same person)
2) felicia did the interview as britney ( THe 'britney' voice was compared to
felicias cell phone voice mail message)
3) Third unknown party was playing a trick on the show
4) Britney's voice changed dramatically overnight and it really was her on
the phone
The Following is a Show Synopsis Special Report
The Britney Incident, 10:32 AM, July 18th, 2002
When we found out that Britney Spears was scheduled to be on our show, Kidd
told us that it was the equivalent of being a newspaper and war breaking out.
If that's true, then what happened yesterday at 10:32 AM was the equivalent
of Hiroshima. In other words, it was a disaster of epic proportions. It was,
as Kidd put it, the biggest train wreck Kidd Kraddick in the Morning has ever
seen.
As you may or may not realize, we were supposed to have Britney on the phone
sometime this morning. Due to a scheduling flap, however, the interview had
to be bumped up to 10:30 AM yesterday morning. So 10:30 rolled around, and
sure enough, our hotline rang. Psycho Shanon did her phone-screener thing and
then plugged Britney through to the others, but not before saying, 'It's not
Britney.' Kidd answered the phone, unsure of what to expect. 'Hello, who's
this,' he asked. Eventually the voice on the other end responded, 'It's
Britney,' in a ridiculously thick Louisiana accent. Kellie questioned whether
or not it was really her, as did we all. It just didn't sound like her. It
sounded like someone TRYING to sound like her. Al, seeking to help verify the
pop star's identity, asked her what her last name was. 'Spears,' she
answered, sounding very confused. Kidd then asked her where she was going.
When she said 'on my way to the plane,' Kellie exclaimed, 'It's not Britney,'
and then proceeded to mock her accent. The questioning continued, with Kidd
asking her to sing 'Oops, I Did it Again' and Kellie asking her who Greg
Vaughn is. When she had no clue who this Greg Vaughn person was, Kellie
became even more adamant that this person wasn't Britney. Kidd seemed pretty
sure, too. When Britney said that she couldn't really hear them because she
was 'on a phone, in the car,' he told her, pretty rudely, 'Well, yeah, we
know you're on a phone...' Eventually the world's biggest superstar told the
disbelieving DJ's that she was told to call this show by her mom and that she
was going to go call her and straighten everything out. 'Thank you,' she told
them in an unbelievably disgruntled tone and hung up.
Nobody thought it was her. Not Kidd, not Kellie, not Al, not Scott. In fact,
Scott got on the phone and tried to call her mom. He figured that she would
be able to confirm or deny whether or not the caller was who she said she
was. Unfortunately, when he called her office phone and her cell phone, she
answered neither. Meanwhile, Kidd was making the best of a horrific situation
and had 'Julia Roberts on the phone right now.' Of course it was just Kidd
screwing around, doing a bad impression of a woman and telling Kellie, Scott
and Al that 'her' mom had told 'her' to call in. At about the same time that
he got tired of that, the hotline rang again. 'Who is it,' Scott asked. 'This
is Christina Aguilera,' Kidd said in a fake girl voice on the fake phone.
'No, it's Lynn,' Scott corrected.
Lynne Spears, Britney's mother, was not happy. She wanted to know who had
screwed what up. When Scott confirmed that the person on the phone was, in
fact, who she said she was, Kidd did his best to backpedal out of the
shark-infested waters that he'd found himself in. The next few minutes
consisted of the grandest display of butt-kissing I've ever heard in my 23
years. 'We're so sorry, it was an honest mistake! Please call her and tell
her we're sorry,' he pleaded. He was denied though, and told flatly that she
would not be calling her daughter again until later in the day. Frustrated,
Kidd asked if he could at least talk to Jamie-Lynn Spears, who was with her
mother in California shooting 'All That' for Nickelodeon. Lynn allowed them
to talk to her daughter, who had just crawled out of bed. The younger Spears
daughter was barely coherent though, and eventually got tired of Kidd's
senseless prattling ('Are you hungry? Your mom made you French toast.') and
handed the phone back to her mother. Kidd and the others apologized several
more times before Lynn went about her motherly business, far from the idiocy
that was taking place in Dallas, Texas.
Now completely humiliated, Kidd tried to figure out exactly how and when this
whole thing went so horribly, horribly wrong. He and the others played back
the tape on the 'interview' with Britney, crying out in pain every time one
of them mocked her or made a snide comment. Kellie in particular was in
agony, which is completely understandable. Her worst fear in life is being
humiliated in front of celebrities, since she's convinced they're so much
better than normal people. Now, here she was, completely humiliated in front
of the biggest celebrity of our time, Britney Spears. Not helping matters was
Big Al, who couldn't stop laughing. He was beside himself with hysteria over
the fact that for once he wasn't the one to completely screw something up.
Over on Scott's end of things, the calls were already pouring in. His cell
phone was vibrating itself to pieces, thanks in part to a peeved Sony
representative. 'Sony?' Al asked, 'Great, now Michael Jackson's going to mad
at us.' Kidd sensed the cue here and picked up the fake phone. What followed
was a string of calls from various celebrities, none of whom sounded like
themselves. Michael Jackson sounded like a middle-aged, dorky white guy. Mike
Tyson sounded like he was from lower London.
Once Kidd and the others were done beating this way-beyond-dead horse, they
started to sign off for the day. That's when the hotline rang once again.
'Hello,' the girl on the other end answered, 'This is Britney.' Nobody knew
how to react. Could this be the real deal? 'I'm really sorry about everything
that happened,' she told them. 'Shanon?' Kidd questioned. 'SHANON!' 'No, this
is Britney,' the Psychotic One responded. This carried on for a couple of
minutes before everyone, mentally and physically exhausted, signed off for
the day.
Questions remained though, and they still do as of this writing. Was the
original caller Britney Spears? The message board and our E-Mail box filled
basement-to-rafters with various conspiracy theories. Some think that Lynn's
lost control of her daughter and is trying to cover herself. Some believe
that Britney's plate is over-flowing and that her personal assistant,
Felicia, is picking up the slack. Still others wonder if this whole thing
isn't just the most sensational, the most brilliant, and the most successful
prank of all time.
What is the truth?
You can go to KiddLive.com on monday and you might get the audio under
warmup shows. They usually post the highlights of the show there but it
might be edited for time because the whole incident lasted about 50 minutes
without commercial breaks.
