My name is Katie and I live in Oregon. I am a singer and I also write songs. I am in the middle of taking a songwriting class and my teacher's name is Brian Christopher. He has had songs published in movies and TV and has songs that *NSYNC, Faith Hill, and Tim McGraw are all considering. Today in class, he played a demo CD of a song called 'Makin' A Wish' that he wrote and told us that the management teams of both Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears are interested in this song and a few others. (Record companies and management teams almost always want demo CDs of songs they're considering, with someone singing the song who sounds somewhat similar to the artist they represent.) This particular demo for 'Makin' A Wish' was done with a man singing.
After class, I went up to my teacher and asked if he had any ideas or tips on how I might get into making demo CDs for songwriters because that interests me. While we were talking, he asked if I might be interested in making a new demo for him for 'Makin' A Wish', because both management teams are putting the pressure on to get these songs in. I, of course, said yes, and I'll be recording the demo tomorrow. I thought you might be interested in the lyrics. It is a mid-tempo/slow song with a bit of an 80's vibe, at least in the demo music, who knows what producers will do with it if Britney or Christina records it.
