NBC and Macy’s join to
celebrate the country’s 226th birthday with the "Macy’s 4th of July
Fireworks Spectacular". Rob Lowe of NBC’s Emmy Award-winning drama "The
West Wing" will host this hour-long special which features amazing
pyrotechnics live from New York City as well as musical performances and
guest celebrities. The fireworks display theme is "A Time For
Heroes" and will include a special tribute to the heroes and victims of
September 11th. The special marks the third time that New York’s largest
fireworks event will be broadcast on the Peacock network.
Host Rob Lowe will be surrounded by thousands of spectators and will
introduce each performance and comment on the night’s festivities. The
telecast will include performances by Britney Spears, Ray Charles, Enrique
Iglesias and James Taylor.
