I just got back from the Houston show and sound check. What more can I say but
OUTSTANDING! The last few days have been rough for Britney whether it be
electrical problems, or sound check problems, but today's show in Houston was
something that us Texans will NEVER forget!
Britney's touring staff is the best. They're so kind. I only had one
sound check pass and I went and talked to them and they gave me one for my
mom. The guy hesitated but then pulled out what seemed to be a thousand
passes out of his pocket and handed one to us.
They made us wait outside the doors inside the venue and we could hear
Britney practicing 'Anticipating.'
We all wanted to run inside those doors to
go see her. It's a shame we didn't actually get to see her sing the songs.
When I walked in, we ended up sitting in the second row in front of the
catwalk stage. Like all the other sound checks, we played trivia, did karaoke,
and watched the movie on what a sound check party is. After all that cool
stuff, Britney came out the last few minutes and sang Mystic Man. I was
expecting her to be in a bad mood from what I have heard, but to my surprise
she walked on stage with a smile on her face. She said hello and welcomed us
and was the sweetest person you'd ever meet.
She told us she was going to
sing us a song she'd written called 'Mystic Man.' She did a great job and her
voice sounded excellent. When she was done she thanked us and left the stage
with her cousins Laura Lynn, and Fe.
People were booing because they expected more. They thought they'd actually
get their 10 minutes with Britney. But I was very pleased with what she did.
I got more than I had expected, reading that review from the San Antonio
Show. It was exactly the opposite of what I had thought. Opon leaving we each received a 8x10 pre-signed autograph. Of course they're
all copies, but it is good enough for me. The picture is the one from the
Herb Ritts photo shoot where she is bending down.
Let me also mention I agree with what Tonya recently said on your website.
People take things like a sound check very seriously and it means a lot to
some people. Britney's fanclub, website, and radio stations across the USA
make the sound check out to be something it really isn't. I think we should
make a request to change the name from the 'Britney Spears Sound check Party,'
to the 'Britney Spears Pre-Show Party,' because the sound check was something
FAR different from a sound check.
