This is the first time that I have been compelled to write you. The reason I am writing is because I wanted to respond to a message that I saw regarding the TX concert cancellation and sound check experiences. The message was from a person who says that people should not be upset because a sound check did not go their way. Well I, for one, strongly disagree. Obviously the person who wrote that doesn't have any idea how much people look forward to the possible chance of meeting Britney at a soundcheck. I recently was informed that I had been chosen to attend a soundcheck at the St. Louis concert on June 22. I was so exited at the implications of this. Maybe I can meet her, maybe I can get an autograph, or even a picture w/ her. Even though I know that the 'official rules' state that we would only get a pre-autographed picture on our way out the door of the 20 minute soundcheck. But still, a person has dreams right. You think that your soundcheck might just be the one where al! l 'rules' will go out the window and maybe Britney might decide that day to come into the crowd. Anyway, after reading the couple of stories that explained why people were disapointed by their soundchecks, I am not really looking forward to mine. The last thing in the world I want is to be disapointed by Britney. To the person who said 'people it's just a soundcheck, not a performance', I say...yes, sometimes people have a bad day, yes, I'm sure Britney does as well. Ok. If she is always going to be in a bad mood at her sound checks, if it is as you say 'Britney's time', or if it is a pain to her, maybe she shouldn't invite people into the sound checks. If you ask me, that is giving people false hopes. Maybe she could have her sound checks a little earlier in the day and actually take an hour our of her schedule to meet and talk to the people who actually make her who she is. Not trying to be harsh, but I am just a little aggravated w/ the whole sound check issue...obviously!. Here's hoping that mine turns out better. I will be sure to write back to let everyone know what happened. In the meantime, I would love to hear some more sound check stories, good or bad.
