Britney Spears and Beyoncé Knowles will release the leadoff singles from the
Austin Powers in Goldmember soundtrack, with Knowles' "Work It Out" dropping
shortly before Spears' "Boys," which was remixed by Pharrell Williams of the
Neptunes, who produced the original version.
Knowles' up-tempo "Work It Out," which will also be included on her debut solo
album, will premiere Thursday (May 23) on AOL.com. The Destiny's Child singer
will shoot a video for the song in New York in early June.
Spears filmed a video for "Boys," which appears in its original form on her
Britney (2001) album, last week with "Goldmember" star Mike Myers.
Knowles, who plays Myers' love interest in the latest "Austin Powers" flick, has
another song on the soundtrack, "Hey, Goldmember," which was written by Myers
and samples K.C. and the Sunshine Band's 1976 disco hit "(Shake, Shake, Shake)
Shake Your Booty" (see "Beyonce Records Song Written By Mike Myers For 'Powers'
Flick").
The track list for the rest of the soundtrack is not yet available, according to
a spokesperson for the project. Knowles' still-untitled solo disc is due in
October, according to her Columbia Records spokesperson.
