The paps caught up with Britney Spears at Van Nuys airport. Here we see her just as she’s leaving Los Angeles, as her plane takes off.

On Russell Brand’s weekly BBC radio show tonight, August 30th, he accidently read out a list of people “appearing at VMA’s” he’s not aloud to mention. He didnt see it was not to be read out and said “here’s some people appearing… Kanye West, Britney Spears -” then was cut off by his people. He later also said Pink was doing a performance.

The Boombastic Mr Lover Lover man Shaggy has revealed that he wants to do a reggae duet with both Britney Spears and Robbie Williams.

Talking to us ahead of the release of his greatest hits album, out this week, the It Wasn’t Me star said: “Imagine Britney Spears doing a hardcore dancehall record, have her doing the dutty wine! Or Robbie Williams doing an old classic rubabdub dub riddim or something like that, something unique. It can’t be just a regular collaboration.”

Britney sported the slogan on her Ed Hardy sweatshirt while leaving the recording studio late last night.

But we certainly don’t think it’s an indication that she’s turning to the dark side — just that she loves Christian Audigier’s clothes!

You’re probably so far beside yourself with the news that Christopher Mintz-Plasse (a.k.a. “McLovin!’”) will be presenting at the 2008 VMAs that you’re, like, sitting across the room from yourself.

Not that McLovin’ doesn’t deserve some serious VMA McLove, but you know who deserves even more love right now is former badgirl Lindsay Lohan. Not only is Lindsay presenting too, but she also totally deserves a VMA for Most-Improved, which is a new category that we just made up.

Of course, she’d have to beat out Britney Spears, who’s also done a total 180 this year and is basically like the old Britney but better, stronger and more domesticated than ever. Seriously Britney, even bestie-for-hire Paris Hilton has commented on your perfection, and trust us, she knows a few things about the power of reinvention.

So Britney should get a made-up Most-Improved Moonman too, and she should also FINALLY win an actual VMA since she’s been nominated for 16 VMAs and has never gone home with one (!!!). But you know what they say — 17th time’s a charm, and this year Brit has three chances to win since she’s nominated for three VMAs – Best Pop Video, Best Female Video, and Video of the Year.

And it’d be even more supremo dreamo fantastic if Britney came to the VMAs to pick up said hypothetical VMAs — real or fictional — in person. And now would be an ideal time for me to plead: Britney, PLEASE come to the VMAs! Pretty PWEASE!?

Anyway, who should win the Most-Improved VMA? Lindsay or Britney?

Britney Spears is on the comeback trail and it looks like our royal family could be the salvation that she needs to finally get back on track. Insiders tell me that the pop tart is in talks with EBF, the home of the famous variety show held each year in front of the royal family in December.

The idea came from Prince Harry and Chelsey — they are both big fans. Word is the singer who has battled demons and divorce is “over the moon with the offer and making arrangements as I write.“

An insider tells me “she feels that this is a great seal of approval and knows that it’s an honor to be asked. Plus, what a great comeback and who better than in front of the royal family?” …

It’s still a week early for the MTV Video Music Awards. But Britney Spears, who is up for three awards – including top honors – has a supporter in the form of hip-hop heavyweight Pharrell Williams.

“She’s made her mark with her career,” Williams told PEOPLE at Wednesday’s Pepsi 500 Running Wide Open party in Hollywood, which he co-hosted. “She’s super-talented. She’s an entertainer.”

Williams, 35, collaborated with Spears on her hits “I’m a Slave 4 U” and “Boys.”

“It was cool, it was fun,” said Williams, who is currently working on new music with Common and Fall Out Boy.

Besides video of the year, Spears’s nominations include best pop video and best female video. She has never won a MTV Video Music Award, despite 16 nominations in her career.

While Williams is rooting for Spears, her musical success does not hinge on success at the awards show, he says.

“I’m not sure [if she will win],” Williams said. “I don’t even know if it really matters whether she wins or not.”

Spears’s live MTV VMA performance of “Gimme More” last year was a notorious disaster. This year, Spears has appeared in taped VMA commercial segments with host Russell Brand, but is not scheduled to perform.

She competes with the Jonas Brothers, Chris Brown, the Pussycat Dolls and the Ting Tings, for video of the year.
