SUPRISE COMING ON WORLDOFBRITNEY!

CHECK BACK SOON!

BACK AND FORTH!

Britney Spears is furious over her mother’s plan to release a book about her.{nl}The ‘Toxic’ singer is reportedly so angry with her mother Lynne Spears‘ decision to publish the tome – which details both Britney and her sister Jamie Lynn’s showbiz lives she refuses to be in the same room as her.{nl}The disagreement is said to be so severe Britney initially refused to be present when her younger sister Jamie Lynn gave birth earlier this month because she didn’t want to see Lynne. A source said: “Britney was so upset and angry with her mom that at first she refused to be at the birth. She couldn’t bear to be in the same room as her.{nl}“But when Jamie Lynn found out that Britney might not be in there, she got really frightened and couldn’t stop crying. She begged her sister to reconsider, and at the last minute Britney agreed to come.”{nl}Britney is so desperate to stop Lynne publishing her memoirs she has even reportedly tried to bribe her.{nl}The source added to Britain’s Closer magazine: “Britney feels that just as she is moving forward, her mom is dragging her back. She’d even offered to pay her mom the equivalent of the book money to keep her quiet.” {nl}

VMAs would consider second chance for Spears

MTV isn’t ruling out giving viewers more Britney Spears at this year’s Video Music Awards. “Everyone deserves a second or third chance, right?” Van Toffler, president of MTV Networks Music Group, playfully told The Associated Press during a telephone interview Friday. When asked if he was just joking, Toffler said “sorta.” {nl}”Who knows?” he said.{nl}Spears’ out-of-it “Gimme More” comeback performance during last year’s MTV Video Music Awards at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas was one of the most-talked televised moments of 2007. The drama-filled VMAs drew 7.1 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. Another Spears redux could equal even more eyeballs.{nl}”I’m not sure how we top Britney opening the show,” said Toffler. “We are working on it every minute of every day.”{nl}This year’s MTV Video Music Awards will air live from Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles on Sept. 7. (MTV and Paramount are corporate cousins within Viacom Inc.){nl}Toffler said the award show’s performances will occur on the lot’s various sound stages, rooftops and faux city streets.{nl}”The backlot gives us versatility,” said Toffler. “You can do street performances, on-top-of-building performances, on-the-side-of-a-building performances, inside-of-a-studio performances, so we’re pretty excited.”

Another Producer On The Project

Darkchild has been confirmed to be working on Britney’s next album! He is now working with Beyonce & Ciara, but we know Britney’s will be the best.{nl}

Sole Custody!

Britney Spears may have earned the right to more time with her kids from the courts earlier this week – but if her ex-hubby Kevin Federline has her way, she won’t be getting any more!{nl}”Kevin has had sole legal custody since January,” his attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan told E! Online. “He wants that to become the permanent order at trial, and the visitation to be consistent with what the court expanded it to this week.”{nl}Kevin’s reasoning, Kaplan explains, is a simple desire for stability – for the childrens’ sake, of course. “There’s nothing magical about 50-50,” he told E!. “There’s nothing magical about 60-40. What’s magical is that whatever order is in place, it’s the order that best suits the best interest of the children.” {nl}And according to Kaplan, that stability comes directly from the court-imposed conservatorship, which he credits as bringing “structure and stability” to a volatile situation. “‘[I]n flux’ is not a description of what you want for a child’s environment,” he said. {nl}Kevin Wants Britney To Be “Involved”Of course, it’s not all acrimony between Spears and Federline – Kaplan claims his client desperately wants Britney to be “involved in [Jayden and Sean's] lives in a very substantial and meaningful way.”{nl}”He wants to have an order,” Kaplan said, “that takes into account a certain stability and structure for the kids…regardless of whose house they happen to be at at any given moment.”{nl}Mediation Was “Comfortable” And “Positive”Spears and Federline met yesterday afternoon at the Ritz-Carlton to discuss issues pertaining to custody. Unfortunately, the meeting failed to yield results – by Kaplan’s own admission, the mediation “didn’t result in an agreement that would avoid the trial set in August.” {nl}Still, it sounds like a positive first step – Kaplan himself characterized the meeting as constructive!{nl}”The mood was comfortable, positive, and it was a mood that was consistent with opening at least a great dialogue, which is necessary,” Kaplan admitted. {nl}Well, that’s good to hear – we sure hope these two can move forward and find a solution which works for them both!

K-Fed Attorney: Mediation With Brit “Positive” Step

Kevin Federline wants Britney Spears to once again play a major role in their children’s lives. Just not a bigger role than his.{nl}K-Fed’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, spoke exclusively to E! News in the wake of Thursday’s all-day mediation session, in which both sides were seeking to hash out a custody agreement in advance of an August trial.{nl}”Kevin is seeking to maintain the sole legal and physical custody that he presently has,” Kaplan said. “There’s nothing magical about 50-50. There’s nothing magical about 60-40. What’s magical is that whatever order is in place, it’s the order that best suits the best interest of the children.”{nl}Which, ideally, would give the 30-year-old Federline full custody, simply making permanent the present temporary order.{nl}”Kevin has had sole legal custody since January. He wants that to become the permanent order at trial, and the visitation to be consistent with what the court expanded it to this week.”{nl}Namely, allowing Spears, 26, overnight visitation with sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, which will begin Saturday night. In addition to the sleepover, she is also allowed two day visits per week.{nl}For his part, Kaplan said Federline is more than happy to give the stabilized Spears not only more custody rights but the ability to be “involved in their lives in a very substantial and meaningful way,” and credits the conservatorship with her recent turnaround.{nl}”He wants to have an order…that takes into account a certain stability and structure for the kids…regardless of whose house they happen to be in at any given moment.{nl}”When the conservatorship was imposed, it brought a certain sense of structure and stability to an environment that seemed to be continually in flux. And in flux is not a description of what you want for a child’s environment.”{nl}But while Thursday’s mediation didn’t result in any brokered accords

MTV: Britney Could Return to VMAs

If Britney Spears is serious about making a comeback, she can prove herself this September at the Video Music Awards.Despite last year’s reviled, head-scratching, lip-synching performance the singer put forth, MTV claims it won’t say “no” to Britney Spears.”Everyone deserves a second or third chance, right?” Van Toffler, president of MTV Networks Music Group, says.Don’t get too excited though. Van admits that he was “sorta” kidding about welcoming Brit back with open arms.”Who knows?” he adds.Last September, a bikini-adorned, uncoordinated Britney opened the network’s marquee award show with a lackluster performance of her new single, “Gimme More.”"She looked lost and confused,” a VMA audience member told OK! at the time. “She was definitely not into it. People were shaking their heads and wondering what happened.”If the 26-year-old is invited back, she won’t have to travel far to attend the ceremony. After stints in New York, Miami and Las Vegas last year, the VMAs are returning to Los Angeles this year. Van says producers and crew members are already planning the show, but know they have their work cut out for them.”I’m not sure how we top Britney opening the show,” he says. ”We are working on it every minute of every day.”

Britney and Kevin Headed for Custody Trial

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline appear to be headed for a custody trial in August, after an attempt Thursday to settle out of court failed. {nl}After a day of talks with a mediator, Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan told E!, “The mediation didn’t result in an agreement that would avoid the trial set in August … The mood was comfortable, positive and it was a mood that was consistent with opening at least a great dialogue, which is necessary.” {nl}Kaplan added that his client is seeking sole physical and legal custody of sons Preston, 2 1/2, and Jayden, 1 1/2, and wants Spears to continue her current visitation terms. {nl}The singer has been spending three days a week with the boys and was recently granted overnight privileges. {nl}”If the existing arrangement was acceptable to both parties … we wouldn’t have to go to trial,” Kaplan said. “But that didn’t happen.” {nl}The trial, which is scheduled to begin Aug. 25, would result in a final custody ruling, which can remain in place for years

K-Fed’s Lawyer: Meeting Was a “Positive” Step

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline’s top-secret meeting on Thursday was a “positive” step towards a custody agreement, Kevin’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan tells E!.{nl}”The mediation didn’t result in an agreement that would avoid the trial set in August,” he says. “The mood was comfortable, positive and it was a mood that was consistent with opening at least a great dialogue, which is necessary.”{nl}Although the meeting went well, Mark is quick to point out that neither party budged when it came to the custody status, as OK! has reported. Kevin still intends to maintain legal and physical custody of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, with Britney have visitation, which now includes overnights.{nl}”Kevin has had sole legal custody since January,” Kapan tells E! “He wants that to become the permanent order at trial, and the visitation to be consistent with what the court expanded it to this week.”{nl}He continues, “There’s nothing magical about 50-50. There’s nothing magical about 60-40. What’s magical is that whatever order is in place, it’s the order that best suits the best interest of the children.”{nl}The August trial date will iron out the two outstanding issues: custody and visitation and attorneys’ fees. Because Thursday’s meeting reached a stalemate, Mark expects the trial to take place.{nl}”If the existing arrangement was acceptable to both parties, we would have an agreement, and we wouldn’t have to go to trial… but that didn’t happen.”{nl}
